(me being a reformed computer geek, that is my advice)
Computers are tools, and could be empowering tools.
I have a Mac. And I have stopped tinkering, swearing against things that go crash, or weird behaviours, and wasting time making things work. Since I got to USE a Mac to do things I have:
Made three movies (that were paid for by clients, and I had never done filming and editing before)
Created a brochure (that was paid for client, and I had never done DTP and vector drawing before)
Managed all my photos easily (the 7000 of them, all tagged and, sorry, not on flickr, lazy me)
Been a beta tester for amaeing apps that help me make cooler things.
Learned to do the web and the blog things
Landed a job at the Mac making company, no less.

I consider myself not a geek anymore, but a creative guy using a Mac to be more efficient and creative!
