what would memily do? fails at frequently updating 43T.

write down my parents' stories (read all 3 entries…)
First steps for this one. 2 years ago
  1. write up a list of questions.
  2. acquire one of those little tape recorders.

I think that a face-to-face interview will be the best. Though I don’t know how easy it will be to get to dad. Maybe I will email dad the questions instead? Or maybe a combination of both. Perhaps I should email the questions a week or two in advance so they have time to think about them and pick out the best stories, instead of just being put on the spot. Yeah!

Hey, about questions--

If you’re just after the kind of questions that will get them thinking, not questions specific to them, I could email you a good list that’s organized to elicit a reasonably full history. I’ve been collecting personal-history prompt questions for a decade.

Or, you could try some from here for inspiration:

Just join as a “guest” and nose around the question list. It’s HUGE, and has a lot of really great questions.
