start my own religious movement
Well-grounded paganism

Basically, what this is about is this: I want to create a religious movement that addresses the needs of regular, everyday folk who want to have an alternative spirituality without having to get naked and dance around a fire.

This movement I call the “Well-Grounded Paganism” movement.

Comments:

There is nothing wrong with getting naked and dancing around a fire once in a while. That’s my entire plan for this weekend.

I think for me, it’s about combining that overactive show of spirituality with the more everyday, humdrum aspects of life. To live a more magickal existance is one of those goals I always have. Maybe I should list that one, too.

There is a place for well-grounded paganism. I just also think that dancing (or drumming) around a fire has it’s place, too.

Don’t get me wrong: I have nothing against dancing naked around a fire. People shouldn’t have to, though.

I guess where I’m going with that statement is that Well-Grounded Paganism is about living your spirituality on a daily basis, not just when it’s fun, or when it may get you laid, or when it lets you ogle pretty people nekkid.

That’s all I’m sayin’ ;)

Hey, I got into this religion for the ogling! Don’t you take away my ogling!

In all reality, the way it seems to work for me is that I get to raise an obscene amount of energy at a big group ritual; I bring that back to my “everyday” life and infuse more mundane activities with this energy.

But I get what you’re saying here. :)

good idea

I’ve done the dance naked thing, and didn’t mind it, but some groups can ‘insist’ that its the right or traditional way. The gods don’t care if your’e dressed or not. Good point, Sam

Sam Chupp has gotten 3 cheers on this entry.
