Have a better 2007 than 2006 (read all 6 entries…)
2006 was one year I'm glad to see over 2 years ago

There were many things I’d like to forget ever happened in 2006:
*There was much pain (mum and hubby both had operations and loads of physio) and anguish (dad’s stroke).
*My brother’s entrance to the ambulance service to be a paramedic was postponed again and again.
*I was made redundant from a job I loved.

Some really good things happened too:
*Our 5th wedding anniversary and a trip on the Orient Express to stay at a palace in Venice for 10 days.
*My parents’ 40th (ruby) wedding anniversary and we then spoiled them to a luxurious stay in a 5 star hotel, everything included inc meals, drinks, a trip to the theatre in a chauffeured car and champagne in the room.

Whew!

I am glad 2007 is turning around for you. This last year hasn’t been my best. I broke my foot; my little doggie’s dying, my mother’s dying, I’m running through my retirement funds too fast and too early; my one brother died and my other brother has COPD; his son has emphasema and dealing with everything has me off-center. So I know where you’re coming from and hearing that things are getting better gives me hope!

:)

There are some years where so much goes wrong or not in the right direction that the next year can’t get any worse?

I’m stronger and feel I can cope with more now. I have changed in the last year – it was inevitable.

I hope that your year doesn’t get any worse and that you can look after yourself – taking time out to stay physically and mentally strong is not being selfish it’s the only way to get through it in one piece. If you can then everything else will be that little bit easier to deal with and you’ll be able to provide better support to those around you. I’m sure you already know that.

It sounds like some of your things will carry on into the next year but I hope that there are no new things to contend with then.

BTW your mother sounds amazing esp as she’s 97 (?). My great aunt was 95 this summer and I can’t imagine losing her but I know shes not immortal. I don’t have any grandparents left but she’s so much like my gran that I love visiting her when I can.
