in 9 days is what I’ve lost. But my husband (who is the expert on the subject) says I’ve firmed and shrunk all over, especially in the bum area. I would have liked to lose more but my body holds onto every ounce these days. But I feel like it’s a real 4 pound loss, not just water, I know I’m burning off old fat now, so I don’t think it’ll go like previous food diets, when the minute I stop the diet I gain it all back and more. This time feels quite different.
Weight loss is a terrible way to gauge success – women (especially) will fluctuate, depending on monthly hormonal influences. And bigger/fatter people will lose more (and more easily) than smaller/skinnier ones. Men also lose weight more easily than women do, b/c they have more muscle that needs fat stores for fuel. That said, I’ve lost 13 lbs. in 9 days. No doubt, some of that loss is muscle, too, which I had a lot of to start.
Several women on this site have worried, b/c they only lost a pound (or even GAINED) for a few days… but eventually the old hormones kick in and bam! they start to lose it again.
Focus on health (not weight loss—you will no doubt lose some!), and on how you’re going to eat/exercise differently when you finish the cleanse.
Also, you can spur your metabolism to lose more weight, if you just do a little cardio at least 3 times a week. But DO NOT overdo it: 15-25 minutes of easy bike riding, or stairmaster, or walking is enough! You just want to get your heart working & your lungs breathing heavy for at least 15 minutes at a stretch! Your metabolism will start the fires burning & do the rest on its own.
Hey! I did it for 10 days and lost 9lbs. My friend did it too, and has been eating healthy since, and has lost an additional 2lbs after the fast because she is still a few pounds from her goal weight. You won’t gain the weight back if you exercise, and eat healthy and in small portions. xox
