It’s too crowded. Takes me 45 minutes or more to drive home 8 miles on the 405 freeway from work. I found several shortcuts on the surface streets, but eventually someone finds your shortcut and then you’re sitting in traffic again. You will only be able to afford a house if you earn over $100k per year. Median price for a nice condo is over $300k, a nice house $500k or more. The rent in any decent area is over $1400.00 for a one bedroom. There’s a lot to do, but, do you really want to plan your day around traffic? If I want to be at place “A” by 10:00 (25 miles away), I’ll have to leave at least one hour or more before I’m scheduled to be there. Oh, don’t move to anyplace in California (Los Angeles, especially) if you don’t have a car. You also better have an excellent command of Spanish, knowing Korean and Farsi dosen’t hurt either. Not a place to raise a family in the city, you have to move to expensive parts for them to get a decent education, school system is horrible. I will move within the next 3 years. It’s a great place to visit but I don’t want to live here anymore.
Did I mention the traffic?
