First class

On my next paycheck, I will be registering for Beginning Conversationl Irish I at the local community college. First class is 24 February. I can’t wait!

So how’s it been going?
Wow! Thanks for checking in. The class was actually full when I went to register (I guess I should have posted that). So I’ve been waiting for the summer course listing to be posted. I dropped the money in my savings account, so I don’t have to wait for pay checks and miss out on the class next time around. ;)
I’ve been trying to work out of Learning Irish by Michael O’Siadhail, but I’ve lost the first cassette and… it’s hard to retain anything when you don’t know how to pronounce a language!

I’ve always thought that Irish was a cool language. I tried to learn Czech out of a book, but didn’t have much luck with the pronounciation either! I find language classes a lot more enjoyable anyway, because you’re around other people learning it too. I hope that a summer class works out well for you!!

and ill try and give you the pronunciation. It can be difficult in written form but i’ll do my best.

The band, The Pogues, were originally called Pog Mo Thoin but were persuaded to tone it down to The Pogues…the last time they toned down anything i think.
