change my car's brake pads etc. (read all 2 entries…)
TLC for Ruby Blue 2 years ago

For the uninitiated, Ruby Blue is my beloved car. I need to get her checked. The warning light for brake pads was flashing yesterday and the ghastly sound each time I turn into a parking spot is getting on my nerves. I suspect this won’t be cheap, but I drive around a lot and my life depends on this car maintained at tip-top condition.

needs to get checked out Nina. I’m a bit like you – those services comes around way too quick and we try to put off the inevitable, but like you we need our cars to get around, so off to the docs for Ruby…........

I’m off to the workshop around 9AM tomorrow. Since I won’t be leaving my car, I hope they won’t take a long time to do it. No idea how much this will cost me, but I’m hoping it won’t cost me an arm and a leg!

that’s the part I don’t like – never quite knowing how much that final bill is going to be. Hope it doesn’t hurt your hip pocket too much :)

I'm sure

both you and Ruby Blue will feel better after the brake pads are changed. I’m lucky that I have a mechanically-inclined son (even takes automotive classes at college) to help me do these things. And sometimes my husband lends a hand, too. But they have to get done. Good luck taking care of it!

Lucky you

I wonder if I can get my son to become mechanically-inclined as yours! :D But until then, I will have to take Ruby Blue to the workshop. They’re a but pricey but I know they take good care of her. They fixed the power steering last time and so far, it’s been fine (touch wood!).
