I don’t actually bite my fingernails any more, except for when I bite them. I “quit” about four years ago, and have had lovely long nails I’ve been very proud of. Lately however, between remodeling my new apartment (all sorts of chemicals, tools and such) they have become both weak and scraggly. Now I tend to pick at them and try to “even things out” between the longer ones and the shorter ones, falling right back intot he same nail-bite trap.
So to stop picking on them like I have been, I’m going to carry a nail file and hand cream. This was part of the way I quit the first time, filing them all down so they aren’t too long, and putting on hand cream or nail cream every time I’m tempted to bite. That turns a negitive into a positive.
