I decided that all I want to do with my life is create things. By the time I’m on my death bed, i want to look back and know that I’ve written novels, composed albums, directed films, created art projects, made poetry, etc. I don’t care if I never find a proper career. I don’t like the world of jobs, qualifications, mortgages, taxes, bills, forms, debts…I hate that world. I want to be an artist, and I will no longer care about other people’s expectations. Everyone says I’m clever and that I should have gone to university, or that I should have a decent job where I use my brain. But I hate studying, and I’ve tried hard to find a job that suits me, and the only one I’m happy doing is making music or writing my novel, or just doing something artistic. I don’t mind doing menial low-class jobs for the rest of my life; as long as no one stops me creating, I will be happy : )
