The “Spider Effect” can cause trauma to anyone jumping in a leaf pile for the first time, so I am issuing a “might not be worth it” warning. The last time I played in the leaves, I came up with a giant Wolf Spider on my arm. Having already been bit by a brown recluse that crawled into my football cleat when I was starting 7th grade, I wasn’t game for an arm bite from one of these things when I was just starting high school. Now I’m more careful; playing in the leaves is totally worth doing, I think, but only if you do it carefully. ;-)
