get out of debt
I was there once... 4 years ago

But then I went back to school, and now I owe again…. this time, it’s what Suze Orman calls “good debt”—student loan debt… low interest debt that looks good on a resume, I guess. But no debt is good debt. It’s just really best not to be beholden to anyone for anything….

On the right track

If debt is used to increase your cashflow through investments, then, thats a different matter.

Can we avoid getting into debt? Are there enough means to remain debt free?

I have struggled with this because my parents went bankrupt when I was a teenager. When I think about it I don’t have any special feelings, but the thoughts I have of having to work to pay someone for the use of their money (indebtedness) really bothers me, like losing some freedom, flexibility, mobility. There is also the notion of Value. Having to incure the cost of interest on top of the purchase price begs the question “how much is the real cost going to wind up being?” This influences what I then am willing to buy.

There is a trade off, I drive an inexpensive 1983 Volvo that still runs good. The stereo at home is under $300 and not new, I am saving to go on a trip in the future.

Hope my life doesn`t seem to restricted – helps me to feel more in control of my choices involving money.

If you want some feedback, I will try to be moderate, ultimately the decision will be yours.
