today i went on my first long long city walk, urban hike, whatever you want to call it.
i had to drop my car off at my mechanic down by boeing field. so i did that today and then i just walked home. i went through georgetown (great great place for walking. so many things to looks at), through the “south seattle industrial park,” (dull… not much other than power lines and fed ex), sodo (not so great for walking – loud traffic and lots of dirt and exhaust), chinatown (had to stop for chinese pastries, bubble tea, fresh veggies), then through little saigon and on to the CD into home sweet home squire park.
according to mapquest, my route was just about five and a half miles and it took me two hours. not a huge walk – but it was a beautiful day and i went through some neighborhoods i would normally never walk in. and i did see some cool stuff – including my new favorite record store and a huge fat goose chillin at the railroad yard.
