hate to say it.... 2 years ago

but I totally give up.

Had some almond toffee roca bits from See’s candy, after a horrifically bad day at work. I personally believe I deserved them and I don’t feel one bit guilty about it.

In lookig at the goal, I am pleased with my success. I managed to avoid a great deal of Christmas Holiday splurging, and lots of junk food. But at this point, I have reduced my sugar consumption well, and I seem to have a better idea of when to eat treats (which is not every time they present themselves…)
and when to stop.
So I did succeed a bit, and fail a bit…
I think I’m going to take a break from February, as I’m hoping to experiment with Gummy bears as fuel, rather than Gu or gel shots…

You set out doing this not even sure if you could actually make it one month. You’ve done that and more, if I’m not mistaken. You also appear to have learned quite a lot in the process of this goal, so I couldn’t be more happy with how you’ve done this goal. :D

I definitely

learned a lot. WHat I actually learned is something sooo simple. The satisfaction from eating junk is very temporary. It wasn’t about guilt, because I exersise enough, but more it was realizing I had just eaten a piece of sweet and 20 min later I had nothingto show for it most of the time. The few occasions where I looked back and was thinking, yes that treat was really good….made it more worth it.
Also not having candy around all the time makes it very special and rewarding…and stress relieving, as was the case yesterday.
Though the stress from yesterday goes on.

I think you did a great job with this goal, TJ, especially over the holidays, when sweets are shoved in front of you from every direction. KUDOS to you!!!

I didn’t do it perfectly, but it did help me to look seriously at my sugar consumption. I’m doing better with it now…Can not even recall when I had a donut. I adore donuts.
