Big Day Tomorrow  — 1 year ago

The game goes on sale! Or at least, as far as I know it goes on sale.

If you looked up a definition of “smooth sailing”, this project would not be one of the examples given. However, it’s put us in a good position, so now we need to build on it.

You can check it out in this video. It’s the third game in, where all the letters are spinning to make words (the caption says “exclusive stuff” on it).

For now, it’s only available for Windows Vista, the fancy schmancy new version of Windows which goes on sale at midnight (it’s already on sale in New Zealand, I believe). However, we’re working on a version for Windows XP as I type, and it’s certainly feasible for us to do a version for OS X. If I can find a suitable programmer, this would probably be pretty straightforward, in fact.

More soon (if I do my job properly, at least).

Comments:

How do you

play it? I can’t tell from the few seconds.

Basically...

...blocks with letters on them slide up the screen, and you need to form words to score points.

I highly recommend it. ;-)

I'm sure you do

;)

Des and Snickerdoodle are headed to the Grand Canyon!

Pretty!

Thanks!

But what do you think of the game?

;-)

(This comment was deleted.)

Thanks...

...but you’re looking at a different game! That one will launch in March.

(This comment was deleted.)

Incidentally...

...we found two other games called “WTF”, so we decided against it.

Now I know

what you were on about when I gave that name Ducks Waddle Ludicrously Tuxedoed! Totally confused me at the time.

Maybe you do...

...maybe you don’t… ;-)

Humph.

Thanks alot!

I think when I get a new computer...

(which will be a very long time due to conflicting goal about savings) I need to get one with the new vista system. My poor computer (that doesn’t have internet access right now) is still on 98! :( Your game looks awesome, though. I could “get addicted” to it probably. :)

Thanks!

I think if it will be a long time before you get a new machine, then you’ll only be able to get a Vista system. :-)

Looks Fun

I love word games like this. Of course I don’t plan on getting near Vista anytime soon if ever, so I won’t be able to play it unless you do back version it.

Maybe I can play it in my mind. That could work…

Cheer!

That made me laugh.

Laughing At Vista

Well, at least my mind doesn’t get hacked. It doesn’t get a virus or trojan. It also doesn’t crash or go blue screen. :)

Okay, so sometimes it “crashes” like when I go to sleep. But that’s an intentional crash, not one that makes me cuss because I didn’t back up what I had been working on.

And let’s not go to mad cow disease as a virus that my mind could get… :)

You could try...

...but then you wouldn’t be able to collect all the badges. And how would you know if you’d solved the puzzles correctly? How would you know if you were even solving the right puzzles?

I Wouldn't

If I were using my creativity, it wouldn’t matter if they were your concept of the right puzzles, since it would then be MY game. :) Besides, who really needs more badgers anyway?

You could

collect the badges, just in your mind. That way they look like how you want them to look. :P

dwlt has gotten 20 cheers on this entry.
