Rainbowshappen wants a cheap, green alternative to long-haul flying ASAP please.

Go from A to B (Bsus4 that is) without looking (read all 2 entries…)
As in guitar chords. 2 years ago

A is down on fret 2. Bsus4 is up on 7th and 9th. And I have tiny little hands and no sense of direction to speak of, and while I can do it, I can’t do it without looking at my hands. And tonight I thought, oh, soddit, I want to be able to do it without looking. And I’m missing a 43rd goal right now so what the heck, might as well try for this one.

Is there a particular reason you're playing the Bsus4 up on 7th and 9th,

going for a specific sound maybe? It’s just that (and you may know this already, in which case ignore me :) ) you can play Bsus4 on the 2nd fret too. Saves you moving at all. You’re probably going for a particular version of Bsus4 though.

Yup.

The song is ‘Come As You Are.’ I’m playing acoustic, but the tab book of Nevermind gives this as the fingering. Oddly, Unplugged doesn’t have specific fingering for that part of the song, but gives chords at the beginning and it’s the lower B. I might get the DVD out and actually look at what Kurt’s actually doing at that point (which may or may not bear any resemblance to what’s in the tab) – that’s how I got the hang of the solo.

I nearly have it now anyway…

Is it like a minor barre chord shifted sideways? That’s a very Nirvana chord I think.

I tend not to want to move my fretting hand much, especially as I’m often going for melodic/classical/jazzy, and it sounds really good when only parts of the chord moves (think it’s called voice-leading?) Anyway, you’re going for Nirvana, so I’ll shut up now :)
