set life goals
I'm scratching my head again...

.. thinking about what I want to do with my life. It’s tricky to set goals which are big enough for an entire life, and yet which aren’t patently ridiculously unachievable. Need to keep a balance between being aggresive and pushing myself to do the best and most I can with the gifts and talents I’ve been given while not getting too proud and puffed up, setting impossible dreams instead of achievable goals. Hmmm.

Turn your logic on its head....

...instead of thinking, “What do I want to get out of life,” try thinking “What can I GIVE to life.” What talents do you have that can bless your family, your friends, and by extension, the world at large?

When I was a dorky little freshman in high school, I had a wise friend in college who told me to write a “statement of myself” as an exercise to help me find which way my life should go. I did, and I kept it on my mirror as a reminder for years. I repeat the exercise every couple of years. Think of it as a “blueprint for your life”.

Most of your statements should start with “I” or “My” or another personal pronoun. For example, “I am a reliable person. People can count on me. My friends seek me out for advice. I am an example of Christlike love for others.”

This doesn’t necessarily have to represent the way you ARE at every moment, but it should represent the best of you.

God bless and good luck!
