who got married and was separated, but not yet divorced, and the husband died. She got the insurance policy, which she probably deserved (she’d sold her house and “they’d” bought a new one and a car with a down payment from her house) the house (likewise), but also his retirement, which I’m not sure she did (they were married like 2 years.) His kids were furious but there wasn’t anything they could do…they finally split it.
So, there you go, a real life story to goad you on!

I need to do this too. But I don’t know where to begin. The biggest thing is deciding who would get custody of Kait if something happened to both me and Jason. Right now we’re at a loss for who that would be.

to sit down and type it out…what’s stopping me is the thought of the possibility I might die…actually odds are pretty good I will but it’s hard to think about…and I’m twice your age…
But since you are a Mom now…it’s something that should be done…Have you spoken with any friends or family of the possibility you’ve mentioned?...
We spoke with some of my Ex’es brothers and sisters and had volunteers that suited us…we wouldn’t have taken a few of them, and fortunately nothing happened…

Family is out – there isn’t anyone on either side that we feel we can fully trust with the responsibility and that would raise her at least relatively close to our ideals. There is one friend that we are heavily considering, but we have some reservations there also. I’m really worried about making the wrong choice. I know it’s something we need to do though, since my cousin died at such a young age.
