Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

stop procrastinating, or at least procrastinate constructively (read all 3 entries…)
yet another..

..afternoon of oh-so gradual progress with my course-work. I realized last night though, that time spent here isn’t wasted time. For you it’s probably just procrastination, but I happen to be studying Psychology, so it’s ok. I actually do find a lot of inspiration on 43things, and SusieQ agreed with me, so there.

as if I needed any more distractions. I’m kidding… I really like how she thinks. I’ve actually studied that subject in the past, so i’ll definitely be leaving her a lengthy comment.

As far as your ‘anal sex’ goal, I don’t know how I missed that. 36 comments?? Wow. You sure touched a sensitive area with that one. (sorry, couldn’t pass up a cheesy pun like that). I didn’t get a chance to read the comments, but it seems there must be either a very large deviant community, or an extremely preachy conservative community here at 43things. I’m guessing you got a bunch of “I’m your man” or “I’ll do it” responses. I wonder if that ever works for them?? (you don’t have to tell me ;)

Personally, I love trying new things, but i’m gonna hold off on that until I get sick of the other options (or meet a very seductive woman). Could I drink gorilla coffee (google it) every morning to wake up faster? Sure, but would regular coffee ever be the same? Probably not. (bad analogy, but i was trying not to be too graphic.) maybe a tunnel/bridge analogy? no? ok

People say i’m missing out, but I say they just haven’t been exploring their other options properly. Plus, there are certain physical characteristics associated with African-American genes that aren’t particularly conducive to that ‘option’ if you get my drift. God, that sounds so trite… oh well.

ebmoon Hi wow this town's really changed. And so have I.

Did you have any idea

you would get so much advice? I think (not that you asked) that you could delete or give up on it without feeling like you’re caving on the other goal.

speak of what?

Who cares what people think.. fuck ‘em. Definitely stick to your goal to “not care”. Unless the comments are too annoying.. Then fuck ‘em.. delete it. Anyway, consider it forgotten.
