That’s true: it is a very good resume thing. But what happens after you are inducted?

My recommendation is take as many diverse classes as you can (while still in the confines of graduating) and take the most difficult classes out there. There is little more desirable to a college than seeing that you put forth the effort and went above what was expected. It creates a person with diverse interests and allows them to stand apart from other applicants.

The other thing that colleges and scholarship boards like is that you are an upstanding person who isn’t driven by a grade or reputation. Find something you enjoy, say writing, and do it for the benefit of others. Again using writing, you could begin to write simple columns for a local newspaper pointing out inequalities. Not only will this bring out the fact that you have a passion (I’m sorry if writing isn’t one of them), but it also shows that you are looking out for other people.

Be a person for people and do what makes you happy, not what Who’s Who or NHS want from you. An individual will always spark more interest in universities and stock candidates.

Good luck, Infinite, and don’t forget to jump.
