There is someone from my past who I’ve been thinking about a lot lately. Someone who treated me very badly, in fact. I have this urge to write to him and tell him that finally I know how badly he treated me and that I’m far better off without him. But that would be silly, wouldn’t it? I mean… what I want is to let him go out of my life, not to keep it going by pursuing some sign of sorrow in him.

In my experience...
Your last sentence represents an attitude that is more conducive to peace.
It’s wonderful that you’re coming to recognize your value, and that you deserve to be treated with kindness and dignity.
Perhaps you might think of someone in your life who treats you well, and call them to thank them for being a good friend.
The plants you water will grow to be strong.
Plant watering
You’re right, AG – I don’t want to water hateful plants. He’s gone from my life, and that’s what I need.
I’m going to think hard about doing the same with my ex-husband, who is still in my life because of our children. But there’s only so long you can carry poison in your heart before it spreads into every part of your life.
Thank you for being such a wise goddess, by the way.
