I was wondering whether you meant Glenn Gould or Stephen Jay Gould instead.
You will have seen the thirty-two short films about Glenn Gould, I imagine. I loved it, especially the research about the interference between 2 sources of sounds (experiment with radio). But I believe that the fascination exerted by Gould owns much to Bach’ Goldberg Variations.

Actually I haven’t seen 32 short films but I will need to. I have been watching Hereafter (see my All Consuming) which is where I got the word from. I have always really enjoyed listening to Glenn Gould and I want to hear and read more. He’s a fascinating character.
