lose weight (read all 7 entries…)

ok I want to lose weight because im gettin really fat! im 12 years old and i dont know how much i weigh at the moment.Heres my problem…...I want to lose weight but my parnets pick what I eat and…. and i cant do anything about it…. I workout everynight but it doesnt work!Im gunna run track at school maybe that will help but nobody will cheer me on at meets my parents a workaholics! :( Tips please?

hey!! hows it goin…im sorry to hear about that…but first thing is this-you gotta be ok with your body, just except it first because even though you will lose weight it will take a while so you need to be patient…second…when your parents pick your food…what do they pick??? they may pick WHAT you eat but they dont pikc HOW MUCH you eat of it they??? just take a smaller plate-less room for food…skip out on the relaly fattening stuff (fast food, fried food, etc.) drink a lot of water…ice cold cuz it burns calories and dont snack a lot. Its good you are doing track…it will help—im in track and it helps me a lot i love it!!! i dont even compete i just do it for the practice and exercise. well i hope everything goes better…but enjoy what you can right now…i miss middle school soo much!

omg first of all you’re 12 years old! you don’t have to worry about weight! You’re still a kid please just live your life.

Okay, your twelve and im almost fifteen so i dont know if I should be talking, but in middle school you should really enjoy yourself. It was my favorite part of life so far. Trust me high school sucks and in middle school there isnt any pressure to be thin like there is now, so just be yourself and dont worry about it! Sweat the big stuff hon!

It’s really hard when other people have so much control over what you eat and stuff, but hang in there! I remember when I was 12, I really wanted to lose weight, too. Everyone saying that you are too young to worry and stuff just doesn’t remember what it’s like. But seriously, if you try to “diet” and lose weight too quickly, it doesn’t work. You have to try your best to develop healthy habits as much as you can—not go on crash diets or exercise for hours a day.

Try to eat as healthy as you can with what your parents pick out—eat more vegetables when they are available, and eat smaller portions of unhealthy foods.

Joining track is GREAT! Even if your parents can’t make it to the meets, you will make new friends, and they will cheer you on. It might take a while for your teammates to accept you into their group of friends, but hang in there. As they see your dedication and improvements, they will become closer.
