I got to see Stonehenge in 1986. It was very early in the morning and the shuttle buses were not running yet so a buddy and I started hiking down the road. After about 45 minutes we came to some signs pointing the way to the entrance to Stonehenge. It was very foggy (that English country-side morning mist) and we could not see very far. For that reason we did not see the rocks until we were almost right next to them. Very cool. The fog gave a lovely background to the rock grouping. It was also nice being there so early as no one had arrived yet and it was very peaceful.

Way cool!
I would love to go and see Stonehenge. One of those mystical curiosities of the world that should be seen if possible. Seeing it in the fog had to make it very electric. Something that would feel like the past could come alive. Sort of like going through a cemetery at night on Halloween if you get my drift. You know nothing is going to happen, but what if and what was that sound.
Though I have to admit, thanks to Spinal Tap, I always think of the scene with the miniature Stonehenge that almost was crushed by a group of dancing dwarfs. I really got to stop watching sooooooo much TV and movies!
