So I got my tax return back, and decided to get a second car. Not just any car, but a 1966 Ford Falcon Futura. Now, this car already looks pretty decent for her age, but she does need some work… there are a few rust spots, chipped paint, worn chrome, upholstery issues, and some mechanical things that need to be fixed. The thing is… I want to do as much as possible myself. Oh, I’ll take coaching and instruction from anyone who knows what they’re doing… but I don’t want to just plunk down my credit card and say “Fix it, please.” I think it would be empowering and really fun to actually learn to fix a car myself.
