Read all the books on the BBC Big Read Top 100
Untitled 4 years ago

I’ve only read 29 of them so far which is awful. I’m aiming to hit 50 by the end of the year which is quite ambitious for me seeing how little time i get to do something like read. I want to read ‘to kill a mockingbird’ next. If you guys had to pick your own personal favourite from the list which would it be?

My favorites

(Mind you, I haven’t read too many of these)

  • The Pillars of the Earth
  • Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
  • Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland
  • and a few of the Terry Pratchett books (though I never know which one is which)

Azkaban

I think that Azkaban is the best HP book too

My Precious Book

I really like the hobbit, I remember my Mother reading it to me as a kid, reading it on my own and also reading it to my girlfriend as the second book she had read (well listened to) in English. It is a wonderful story but it is best as a book to share. I’m not good at reading aloud and taking voices for the various characters – but Gollum is so easy and it comes so naturally. Five years later my girlfriend and I can still make jokes with “my precious”. It is definetly the book I would want to one day read to my children, which I would first have to have and that is definately not in my 43 things list yet.

I would be surprised if my favourite changes when I have read the top 100!
