identify my personality as a "significant other" and use that knowledge to smooth out my relationship experiences (read all 15 entries…)
This is a learning process that I don't think will ever end

When I’ve just been told a surprising/unexpected piece of information, I tend to clam up. I think this is connected to my inability to form opinions on big issues (i.e., how do I feel about gay marriage, abortion, the war in Iraq? I don’t know). I just truly don’t know what to think about it. I know of course my initial reaction (“You raised bunnies, killed, and ate them when you were 14?! Oh sweet goodness!” ...etc), but beyond that, what do I think about it? Animal cruelty? Ok, well, that’s an easy one. But it’s hard to come up with a relevant example without just telling the whole true story, which this isn’t the place to do.

Point being, this is something I know about myself – and should keep in mind – because it may confuse my significant other (or if I’m silent for too long, he’ll start thinking there’s Really something wrong!)
