Why/What do I want to educate people about therapists?

So hopefully some out there won’t have to go through what I did to get help!!!

First, I had no idea there were choices of therapists besides a psychologist.

Second, I found out a psychologist’s training is geared towards research (not therapy techniques).

Third, an LPC’s (Licensed Professional Counselor)training is geared towards therapy techniques.

Fourth, Medicare doesn’t pay for LPC visits but they do pay for psychologist visits. hmmmmm

So if you’re stuck with Medicare, another choice is a Social Worker.

Another choice is to ask a psychologist if they’ve taken extra classes in therapy techniques.
