i’ve been running at the gym, rather than doing the elliptical. i definetly overestimated my ability to run a lengthy distance. i quiet enjoy it though. can’t wait to get outside, the sun is shining more these days, it shall be soon that i am out hitting the pavement.
my goal at this point: run 5kms.
now, what is a fit persons time for a 5km?

Comments:

I think a “good” time for me when I’ve run an actual 5k race has been about 1/2 an hour.

It’s about 3 miles and a good pace is about 5 miles per hour, so that’s about 36 minutes?

Also if you find you can’t run as far as you think you should be able to, maybe you should slow down your pace a little more? Just so that you can keep “running”. Although I like to warm up to running long distances by doing a little run-walk-run-walk alternation.
