W. has been living in a bubble for the past year.
The story for the film is set, and the screenplay’s sitting at 35 pages, roughly half completed. The problem right now is getting the motivation to actually push forward with the writing; my friend (who plans/wants to take over directing despite being the lead role) has certain ideas of where to take the film, so we’re having trouble compromising. Neither of us want to relinquish any power and it’s frustrating for me knowing that probably only 20% of my screenplay is actually going to be used.
Either way, we’re looking to get some funding from our college for equipment (tapes, DVD-Rs, wardrobe, etc.), so hopefully we’ll actually be able to put forth some cash for things we need. In that case we need to be finished by June for us to receive the money, so that’ll be good for a deadline so we wind up not having to shoot over summer.
Man, this is more trouble and work than I thought it’d be. Usually we just do things simple and quick, but not this time.
