visit a cornfield maze
You've gotta really let yourself get lost, though

The one I went to made everyone take a map. The first time I went we followed the map all the way through, more like a labyrinth for meditation than a real puzzle.

The next year I hid the map away and we really got lost. I was sure my 15-year-old friend would think this was boring, stupid or “just for little kids,” but we had a great time.

Comments:

did you

pilfer an ear of corn as a souvenier? and were there any talking scarecrows along the way?

I was thinking

more on the lines of fair-haired, pale children with scary eyes and sickles.

Maize Maze

I live in corn country. There’s a huge one out a ways each year. It was a blast.

Flashgirl have you been tanning, you look darker in that picture than I remember.

That's my "Little Sister"

I am a volunteer youth mentor with the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program. Camille and I have been matched for almost 6 years now.

That is so cool!

As a person who works with mentally ill children, I think that is way awesome of you to give of your time to do that! Kudos to you! :D

or forget the map entirely :)

my first time in a corn maze, when i took my kids who were 5 and 2 at the time, no one at the maze offered us a map…. it wasn’t until we were lost in the thing we realized other people were walking around with these maps. we joined another group and finally got out.
