support more companies that don't do animal testing
finding these companies

I recently switched to Revlon/Almay for cosmetics on the advise of the “Companies that Don’t Test on Animals” list on www.caringconsumer.com. This is a pretty handy resource if you are trying to use more products from companies that don’t test on animals. It’s a PETA website. I am amazed at how many well-known and often-used company’s products are tested on animals when it is not even required by law that they be. Another company that I started using for household products is Method (can be found at Target). In San Antonio, it is not always easy or cheap to find the companies that are on the list…we’re not usually all that forward thinking Deep in the Heart of Texas.

Facts are hard to find

Good for you Staples5. I’m in the process of doing the same thing. Finding companies that don’t use animal testing is tough. I also used the website you cited to find some. Then I went to the Oil of Olay site (I use some of their products) to ask them why they weren’t listed as a company that doesn’t use animals to test products. I’ve sent them an email. It will be interesting to see what they say. They sent me to a P&G site that pompously claims they’ve sworn off animal testing “except when necessary or required by law.” But they never tell you which products are produced without animal testing. They never give any product brand names at all. Not very convincing. My other issue with Olay is their packaging which appears to require at least one tree and a month’s production of oil for each item. All that packaging for one teeny container. It’s also not recyclable.

Only if we keep up the pressure will these companies stop their cruel and unnecessary animal testing.

Staples5 has gotten 2 cheers on this entry.
