I used a drug called lofexidine that managed alot of the withdrawal symptoms. and would recommend this over cold turkey which is have gone through coming of heroin twice, and tried to do it with methadone, but coming of methadone is a different ball game,
for the intensity and duration of the withdrawal period.

I am 29 and had been stable on 90mg of methadone for 10 years,

Before that I had lost everything,

Over the period of my Meth maintenance i was able to rebuild my life. to a point were the methadone had now become an obstacle to my life.

Coming of methadone is worth it, if its what you want more than anything and are doing it for yourself,

In my experience it has taken the best part of 10 years for my mindset to change to such an extent, that not coming off methadone was more painful and more psychologically damaging, because of its controlling nature over me.
