I applied for my US passport back in Jan ‘07. It took all of 10 minutes at the post office. Be sure to read the state department web site before you go to make sure you have everything they want before wasting your time in line. I sure hope it arrives soon! I’m going to Ontario, Canada in May to visit my Gram for her 90th birthday. My mum will be there too, so I’m looking forward to seeing them both.

Once I get my US passport (and the return of my birth certificate), I will then apply for my Canadian passport (I’m a dual citizen). Considering how unfavorably Americans are viewed in some places, I’d prefer to travel on a Canadian passport in those places. After all, who doesn’t like Canadians?
