I’ve got 2 pieces of advice for those who want to learn how or improve current knitting skills.
1) “Stitch ‘N Bitch – the knitter’s handbook.” IMHO, this is the BEST knitting book ever. I’ve tried for the past 4 years or so, on and off, to learn how to knit. (I would get so frustrated that I’d give up and not try again for months if not a year.) I’ve used different websites and other books and manuals. My husband got this book for me for Christmas and now I can knit!! Not only does this book give you very detailed, and fun directions, there are also tons of patterns and project ideas.
2) Find a local yarn shop. Most offer classes, if not private lessons. They also have a wealth of knowledge they are willing to share. I am still, very much a beginner so I value the advice and encouragement I receive from my local yarn shop.
Good luck and happy knitting!!
