Having a blast. Got my Tony Suit in last week, been working on more aggressive manuevers in it. Practice Practice Practice. My wife and I have committed in a big way by buying a cabin on the DZ premises. Can’t shake us now!
Composite landing:
congrats on your tony suit. i just got one, myself. i came down to skydive elsinore and met Melanie Curtis. WOW. she’s an amazing coach and skydiver. she hated my zute suit, as it didn’t have booties, so she sold me one of her competition jumpsuits, as it was too short for her. the booties are kicking my ass! good luck finishing up your licensing! fun!!!
it’s great to hear from you. :) I’m always amazed at how good a coaching session can be. What have you been working on?
I’m at the threshold of license. Just need my own pack inspected and the two hop & pops. My Sabre2 should be here in May, hopefully in time for a Scott Miller camp.
We’ll meet one day, you wait! :D
that’s awesome that you’re getting a sabre2. i can’t afford that just yet, as i’m still paying off my skydiving license training! BUT, for now, my PD190 does just fine. sweet openings, and okay landings. i just did some jumps at elsinore. i’m in anaheim for my job, and made a long weekend out of it and got out to elsinore. mel and i jumped and i worked on turns and points. mostly, i’ve been working on good body position and have been discovering that i’ve learned some pretty BAD flying habits!!! so mel and i worked on unlearning the bad habits and focusing on good body position so that i don’t end up in a big backslide and so that turns and other maneuvers don’t take too much movement. it’s amazing how little you need to move if you have good body position. she’s also helped me learn how to fly well with good booties (in her old jumpsuit, of course!). what a difference! like power steering! i put video of my last jump on my blog if you want to check it out. http://halcyoncrow.blogspot.com
I’d rather have picked up reliable used gear but finding the right stuff for my size was very difficult and then the costs associated with demoing and inspecting the gear can quickly turn into a fiasco. I wish it were getting here sooner!
I really can’t wait for the Scott Miller canopy class in May. That’s going to rock.
