I am one with the bike...
I got my pedals two days ago. I live in a area with some decent hills, and it was like someone had flattened the hills out for me. Worth every penny of the $150 or so I paid for pedals and shoes. The hardest part for me wasn’t learning to unclip, but rather to clip back in after a stop sign or something (takes a little time to figure out where the cleat is on the bottom of the shoe). Only bit of advice I have is to make sure you wear your helmet and gloves while practicing, and practice clipping/unclipping while standing still. Otherwise, they rock!
