I read Disgrace over the weekend and it was great! I have to admit I cried at the end. I just have such a soft spot for the subject of animals and how they are treated. I won’t say more to ruin it for anyone, but it was a powerful novel. Also, a pretty quick read.

Yesterday I started Middlesex, by Jeff Eugenides. I have had this beautiful hardcover edition of the book for several years and now I’m finally diving in, thanks to my goal. So far I’m not totally hooked, but I think I’ll get there.
