work for pixar
Working for Pixar 2 years ago

Making art for Pixar Films has always been my dream . . . now I’m doing it. There is no secret. It was all hard work, commitment to the dream, intense study, and a strange bit of good-timing. If you can visualize yourself making a real movie, actually being one of those people on the “behind the scenes” – then you have a good shot at it. The problem I saw in most of my classmates is they could not actually visualize themselves in their ideal environment. Either a lack of ambition, drive, creative energy or whatever you want to call it . . . the life force, the spirit, the soul . . . well, they were just afraid to use it! They feared their own power, limited their choices and ignored their natural abilities. If you know what you want, you can ask the simple question “what conditions do I need to find myself in that situation in the future?” With such a question come a bunch of sub-goals and provocations . . . getting things started was then pretty easy.
