Taking the bus as often as possible, even though I usually can’t take it every day, is definitely worth the effort for the additional time available for reading, napping, listening to music, observing weirdos and occasionally surfing the Internet. I am moving soon, and in my new location I will have a rapid public transit system and no car, so I look forward to continuing to enjoy public transportation and my reading/napping time.
Yay for public transport! I take the bus almost every morning to university, and I really enjoy it… the people that frequent buses (where I live, anyway) are somewhat eccentric and very willing to have a yarn. :)
My current bus is mostly full of computer nerds – sometimes they talk, but it’s pretty rare. Usually everyone is buried in their millions of devices (Ipod, laptop, PDA, cellphone, etc.).
But on my new route I talked to several people and everyone was quite friendly – Don’t know if it’s the new city or less computer nerds! :-)
