learn to swear in French
Time to get creative 2 years ago

I’m familiar with only the very basics – merde, putain (or put) and salaud, for example. If I want to live in France, I’m going to have to know how to swear properly at others, and also to recognise when I’m being sworn at.

I think I need to spend more time in the pub and on the football terraces when I next go over.

hahaha

Just this morning I was thinking that French is my favorite swearing language. Though I have a feeling it might get replaced by Finnish soon… =)

Scully okay

I can

help you with that, if you want, with really modern vocabulary, unlike “sacrebleu” :)

Ahh, now that's

what I call international cooperation. :)

Scully okay

He he

you’re absolutely right :)

:-)

Any tips you have would be greatly appreciated !

Scully okay

ok

No problem. Do you prefer here or in private? I advise you, I’m even worse in French, than in English. If you’re not worried about being ashamed to be involved in a talk with a bitch (salope) like me, no prob’ then.

No shame here !

Some of my best friends are salopes !

Either private or public is good with me – whichever you’re happier with yourself !

C,

Scully okay

:D

In private. Not that I’m ashamed of what I am, but that could shock a great deal of people. I’m nearly finished with the message. Maybe then you can tell me if you already knew, and if there’re specific things you’d like to know. See you.

This is an awesome book for your needs and more

International Dictionary of Obscenities: A Guide to Dirty Words and Indecent Expressions in Spanish, Italian, French, German and Russian

I bought this for a former boyfriend who traveled to Europe extensively.

He never had the guts to actually use it in another country (his loss really), but we had some GREAT dinner time conversations because of it.

I liked it in the fact, that it not only gave you the word and the swear meaning, but the prononciation too ;o)

Thanks !

caiti awesomepants old enough to know better. too young to care.

my friend knows french

“baise tu” (idk if that’s how you spell it…prounounced “base twah”) means f you. & we always say “orloj” (again, spelling?? pronounced “or-low-je…idk how to spell the end sound!! its like a cross between a z & a j…sorry!!) it means “wall clock” lol.

Scully okay

Also

Pétasse, pouffiasse, that goes like bitch, whore ..etc

Maxime is back, for now!

Depends on where you go!

In France: Bordel de merde, putain de salope, sacrebleu, mince alors!

In Quebec: Ostie de tabernacle de calice de christ de saint-sacrement!

But don’t mistake yourself and use France’s expressions in Quebec, or Quebec’s expressions in France, because in both way, you’ll pass for a fool… :P

Sacrebleu ?

I know there’s a few differences between the dialects…but I’ve never heard sacrebleu getting used in Paris !
