Aaron: Do you have access to Latin gocery stores? I gave up on mate cups, because I kept choking on the little flecks of yerba coming through the bombilla. I switched to a one-cup-coffee basket from REI (“MugMate Coffee/Tea Filter”), which works really well…all the great yerba, none of the choking! gourds, bombillas, and good yerba
in the DC area… you can get this stuff at El Patio… on Rockville Pike just north of White Flint Mall. It’s a nicce little argentine place with argentine style empenadas and Aquiles.
Am looking for a place in DC, though to get the mate!
