Create my family tree

Worth doing!

Worth Doing!  — 1 year ago

Ive completed my family tree back to the year 1787 back to my Great, Great, Great, Great, Great Grandfarther who lived in Woodton, Buckinghamshire, England.
I really enjoyed finding out about my past by talking to members of my family and searching for information on the internet

Getting Started

Hey Dan,

How did you get started?

I’ve seen that there are evening courses at college on researching family trees but not sure if its worth it!!

Did it cost you much?

Thanks

Hey,
Well i used the intenet to do most of my research and used ancestry.co.uk and cost me £9.99 for a month where you can look at census for 1841, 1851, 1861, 1871, 1881, 1891 and 1901 for England, Wales and Scotland.
I did not join a course but if your not sure how to find out the informaton by yourself, i would recommend joining the course.
And of course to get started it helps to ask members of your family what they know about the family history. As if you do not know anyone in your family’s past that lived in 1901 you will not be able to get further back as none of the other censuses are available at the moment.
Hope that helps.
