manage my IBS
IBS Horrors 2 years ago

Talk about the strangest syndrome – seems if the doctors can’t find what’s wrong with you they label you as having IBS, tell you to change your diet and learn to manage it then shun you out the door (not before charging the many $$ of course)
Having been ‘diagnosed’ as having IBS a few months ago I’m learning to control it better through diet and exercise – but need help on learning to control anxieties and stress levels which just blow it up – any ideas anyone?

Tell me about it. When I talked to my doc, he told me that there wasn’t anything much to do. I’m a health care professional, there isn’t any drug out there. Thought I’d put in my 2 cents. Controlling stress.. you’ve probably heard about it…remember to breathe deeply very simple. Think about the big picture…if it is worth stressing over. Your health should obviously be worth more than the daily stress of life. Find friends who you can talk to about your condition. Good luck!!

Thanks

Thanks! Always nice to know someone else gets it…..

Here’s to less stress and relaxing :)

Hey,
I’ve had the same experience, i got shoved out the door time after time while i was continuously getting worse, same treatment by the gastro. I was actually told i was making it all up at one point.
It ended up turning into a chronic pain condition over the last two years including chronic daily headache, fibromyalgia and IBS so i went to see a neurologist and now i am pretty well pain free.
The same medication that works for other chronic pain works for IBS and its been great, so dont let people tell you that theres nothing that they can do.
I also manage a very strict diet of gluten, lactose and sulphite free, but when its treated properly, stress and anxiety doesnt affect my IBS anymore.
I hope this helps,
B.
