walk the kokoda trail
I have no toenails

Did a 21km bush (off track) navigation, bush walk as one of my preps two weeks ago.

At the end of the trek I noticed that all of my toenails were covered in blood but there was no pain.

So, its now two weeks later and all of my toenails, except the little toe left foot, have fallen off. Interesingly there has been no pain at all.

I’ve never lost a toenail before. Does anyone know if they will regrow? Or am I doomed to a toenailless life.

Comments:

Toenails grow about 1 mm per month and take 12-18 months to be completely replaced.
good luck!! i hope they grow back

Seems weird

It probably depends why they fell off.

Wear & tear is different to an infection – probably best to check with a doctor.

I lost a fingernail in a sporting accident & it grew back.

I would definitely see

the doctor…just to be sure…

however, I injured my big toe while running up and down hills. It was called “black” toe. Your toe bleeds underneath … yours sounds more extreme…

I lost mine and it does take a year or so to completely grow back :-(

What I found out was the toe box in my shoes did not fit me properly … not enough space.

More like you my sister was doing a 3-day 60 mile Koman Walk for a cure and lost 3 of hers that way…she got hers back too..

oh and no neither of us felt any pain…

well just the pain and horror of having toenail less tooties ;-)

kinda messes up the visual affect of the pedicure…

Hope everything is ok, but go see your doctor!

Have seen a doctor now

I had to see a Doctor about something else and while there I showed him my feet.

He just laughed, said they will grow back in 8-12 months and not to worry.

Great Big Toe-nail-less Feet

This is fascinating. Good to know it didn’t hurt you at all!

Great Big Feet has gotten 3 cheers on this entry.
