take an extended train trip
Yeah! And sleep in a sleeper car!

That’s the part I really want to do. With my family.

Comments:

I’ve always wanted to sleep in a sleeper car, too! I don’t even mind that they’re cramped.

My wife, infant daughter, and I took the Silver Star

from Savannah to central Vermont. We had a sleeper car. It’s worth it, yeah. The package included bus fair from St. Albans, I think, to the Queen Elizabeth Hotel in Montreal, and the fare back to Savannah.

I don’t know what’s going on with Amtrack since this year’s flap about congressional budget cuts.

Has anyone heard?

I also once took a sleeper bunk passage-not a private compartment, but a bunk curtained off for privacy- on the Trans-Canadian from Moncton, NB to St. George, BC. That voyage was great!
