If I have this as a goal and I fail, I’m gonna feel extra, double crappy. I may just go back to the denial stage where I’m 29 and holding. Hell, everyone thinks I look younger, so I should be able to pull that off for a while.

I don’t know whether the cheers on this entry are meant as encouragement for having a good birthday, or encouragment to forget the whole thing and live in denial. LOL
As most women do, I mourned the passing of my twenties with much anxiety. More realistically, I should have been celebrating the fact that I SURVIVED my twenties!! Two years into my 30s, I now realize that I know who I am as a woman, and feel a confidence that I didn’t have in my 20s (confidence not to be confused with recklessness). The uncertainty of “Who am I? What the hell am I doing?” is (mostly) gone, and I actually feel like a citizen of the world, not a spectator. Great things lie ahead!

I’m really not that stressed about it overall, but there’s always that little twinge when I compare myself to what I thought life would be like at 30. Somehow I don’t feel as grown up as I thought I would. Overall, I don’t really think that’s a bad thing.
