learn how to drive a motorcycle
Facing a fear. 2 years ago

Most people that know me are surprised when I say that I want to drive a motorcycle. I’m scared of cars and driving fast. So this goal is just to learn to drive it and drive it once or a couple times. That’s it. That’s all I need to make myself feel better about being scared. It’s one of those things you do just to say u did it.

Nevermind the cagers...

There’s always the initial fear of riding outside the comfortable confines of a car. There’s so much dangerous drivers on the road these days, especially reckless SUV drivers speeding by on their hulking trucks yapping away on their cell phones. There’s plenty of reason to be intimidated of riding a motorcycle. I overcame this fear with the help of my brother, he kept urging me to practice. I practiced on his first motorcycle and built up the confidence to ride farther distances.
It’s a blast, riding a motorcycle, the travel becomes more enjoyable than the destination. Once you ride a motorcycle you will never want to ride in a car again, unless you have to. Unfortunately I can’t ride year-round, living in New York. In a few weeks I will be taking my road test – fingers crossed, I hope I pass it the first time. You only live once, right? Cheers!
