lose 30 pounds in a month (read all 2 entries…)
Losing 30 pounds in a month would be VERY unhealthy and temporary weight loss at best. 2 years ago

Trying to lose 30 pounds in a week is idiotic. The human body can only only metabolize 2 pounds of fat in a week at a maximum. Which means that if you lose 30 pounds in a month, you’ll lose 8 pounds of fat and 28 pounds of water, muscle, etc. Losing muscle will decrease your resting metabolic rate, which means your body will be burning fewer calories after losing 30 pounds. In the end, you’ll be doing something extremely unhealthy and you’ll just end up gaining the weight again anyway.

You’d be better off just going on a restricted calorie diet (no fewer than 1600 calories for women or 2000 calories for men, you should probably eat more than that) with healthy foods (chicken breast, sweet potato, oatmeal, salmon, etc.) combined with 40 minutes of cardio 3-6 times a week, weight training 3-5 times a week (women, don’t worry, weight training will not make you look like though disgusting women in bodybuilding magazines. Women don’t have the right hormones to look like that, unless they take steroids.). Finally, it’s important to get 8 hours of sleep every night.

I hope some of you read this and realize that trying to lose 30 pounds in a month would be a futile effort. Lose weight in a healthy way or don’t bother losing it at all.

Comments:

Prove it. I’m a biology major, and I’ve myself lost 15 lbs in a month the healthy way: diet, weightlifting, cardio. JUST STFU AND CITE YOUR SOURCES, NIGGER!

that was really inappropriate and uncalled for! Also, just as a side not makes you sound like an uneducated racist and socially inappropriate jerk. I suppose, it’s good that you openly announce your qualities; so, no one gets the wrong idea about you – namely that you are in any way intelligent and should be taken seriously.

that’s really not the best advice considering that people’s caloric intake varies according to their body type, height, etc. Also, 2 pounds a week is a general guideline, much like 1600 calories, because people that are severely overweight will find that they will be able to lose much more than 2 pounds a week in a very healthy manner. Jusst letting you know , you ought to be more specific when giving out such advice. But, I do agree that some people may be hoping for an easy way out. cheers!
