become a nurse
I went back for a second degree

14 years after graduating from college the FIRST time (BA Zoology, UNH) I decided to give up a salary for a year and go back to school. I applied to an 11-month second degree program, warned my family and friends, and then busted my ass for those 11 months (the first semester was 20 credits plus 2 days at the hospital). When it was all over I had my RN, BSN and I could hardly believe I’d done it. It felt like coming up for air. Now I’m working in the Neuroscience ICU at a Level 1 Trauma Center, and I LOVE IT. It’s probably the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but definitely worth it!

Shannon just me...less extraordinary...more plain ole me.

PHEW.

them HEADS! I love taking care of heads. I had one the other night. An old head to be sure, but a mess none the less.
WTG on filling a lifelong dream.

Can you say, inspiration?!?

I give you SOOOO much credit and respect for busting your ass like that to fulfill your goal. I’m going to be starting a 4-year BSN program this fall, and I’m hoping I can do what you did and put my mind to, know what I have to do, do it (and do it well!!) and come out with the greatest feeling of accomplishment.
Good luck with the job and everything else you do. I have no doubt you will succeed in whatever you put your mind to. :)

fair play

have a similar tale (if but a little premature thou). having finished a BA Hons in Business last sept i realised it wasn’t for me and decided to pursue a career as a nurse. start 2year BSN in london this september, hearing your story motivates and inspires me to see the course through and realise a dream / life vocation!

thank’s

Where?

I am so inspired by you! I am in Roanoke, VA. Where did you find an 11 month BSN program?
